Participate in hands-on health-related workshops to explore health careers and earn certifications! During Hawaii DOE Spring, Summer, and Fall breaks, PHCC hosts an array of workshops for students of all ages to learn health related hands on skills, interesting topics like forensics and human anatomy, and explore health careers by participating in Q&A sessions with Career Panels.
The CANOE – Pre-Health Academy is a four-week statewide intensive program designed to provide skills and resources to help students excel in academia and later graduate from a health professions program. Graduating high school seniors, and college students in Hawaii interested in health careers coming from an economically disadvantaged background, first generation college student, or underrepresented minority group are encouraged to apply.
The CIRCLE Grant program provides students with the opportunity to explore a scientific topic of interest and to get a taste of components of science research, including data collection, reading and understanding scientific literature, collaborating with distance Principal Investigators and local mentors, building your resume and presenting your research findings at a Scientific Symposium.

AHEC hosts an annual Teen Health Camp on each island, where high school students can learn hands-on clinical skills like suturing, casting, and CPR. Join us, and don’t forget to invite a friend, for an all day event at UH campuses around the state for a fun, enriching, and activity packed day.
