The Hawaiʻi Health Workforce Summit is a free one-day conference open to all healthcare professionals working in Hawaiʻi. Annually we expect 600-plus participants, including Physicians, Physician Assistants, APRNs, Community Health Workers, Medical Directors, Office Managers, Allied Health Professionals, Physician Recruiters, students, teachers and more.
We cover a wide range of topics including career satisfaction, mental health, telehealth, substance use, public health, geriatrics, inter-professional practice, opioids, and rural healthcare.

The 2026 Hawaiʻi Health Workforce Summit Poster Competition invites emerging researchers, from high school and undergraduate students to graduate and medical trainees, to showcase their work and engage directly with Hawaiʻi’s healthcare community. Participants are asked to submit a 300‑word abstract following the Background, Methods, Results, Discussion format by August 9th, with selected presenters announced on August 23rd. Finalists will create a 2–3 minute video presentation for virtual attendees and present their physical posters at JABSOM on September 12th from 1:30–5:00 PM, where they’ll field questions from both in‑person and online audiences. With cash prizes of $250 for the grand prize, $150 for second place, and $75 for third, the competition celebrates innovation, communication, and the next generation of Hawaiʻi’s health workforce. Participation is free; just be sure to register for the Summit to secure your spot.
The 2026 Hawaiʻi Health Workforce Summit is seeking dedicated volunteers, including high school students, college and undergraduate learners, and non‑traditional students, to help create an exceptional conference experience at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Volunteers will support event operations on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, contributing to a day of statewide collaboration among healthcare professionals while gaining firsthand exposure to Hawaiʻi’s medical community. Lunch is provided, and this is a meaningful opportunity to build connections, develop skills, and be part of a major event that strengthens our islands’ health workforce.
