AHEC has a wide range of programs available to assist educators. It is our goal that these programs will help teachers inspire their students to love science and encourage them to pursue health careers.

Request a Speaker for Your Class

speaker-request-button.pngAHEC is excited to share the opportunities and resources to help your students find the health career that fits them. Open to classes of all sizes, from K – 12. Available on Oahu and neighbor islands upon request.

Topics include: Introduction to Health Careers, Education Pathway to Medicine, Clinical Skills Workshops (Vital Signs, Splinting, Suturing), Problem-Based-Learning Case Demo.

Tours of the John A. Burns School of Medicine

jabsom-tour-button.pngParticipate in campus tours, including tours of the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). We coordinate school tours of SimTiki, the Cancer Center, the Anatomy Lab, and the Center for Clinical Skills.

Tours are done by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Space is EXTREMELY limited, so contact us today! Contact us to see if your group is eligible for a tour of JABSOM!

Health Careers Navigator

navigator-button.pngThe Hawaiʻi Health Career Navigator is available in hard-copy and online, providing job descriptions, salary information, training requirements, areas of specialization and job growth information for 95 health careers.

Navigators are provided for FREE to students and teachers who request them. Contact AHEC@hawaii.edu to request a navigator and companion booklet.

AHEC is creating resources for CTE teachers to learn from and use in the classroom. Resources from active professionals with years of patient experience, packaged into a FREE and accessible package.
