Habitat for Humanity Hawaiʻi Island

This non-profit housing ministry is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide by advocating for fair and just housing policies, providing training and access to resources, and constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes. Habitat assists people who do not own a home and are living in substandard housing. Applicants are selected based on housing needs, ability to pay, willingness to partner, and access to land.

Hawaiʻi Affordable Properties manages 2,600+ apartments and has vast experience in administering complex rental assistance programs including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Programs, HUD Section 202 and Section 8, HUD Project Rental Assistance Contracts, Home Investment Partnerships, USDA Rural Development 515, Federal and State Low Rent Public Housing, and various state, county, and city rental assistance programs.

Hale Hoaloha Properties

Hale Mahaolu, a HUD-Approved Comprehensive Housing Counseling Agency servicing the entire State of Hawaii, has a primary focus on Maui County (Maui, Lanai, and Molokai) residents. Most of the counseling services provided through the program are at no cost to the participants. They offer in-person homebuyer education classes as well as individualized counseling sessions.

Hawaiian Community Assets

Hawaiian Community Assets is a non-profit, HUD-approved housing counseling agency and community lending institution that builds the capacity of low and moderate-income communities to achieve and sustain economic self-sufficiency with a particular focus on Native Hawaiians. Their services include housing education, financial literacy, training, tenant referral services, loan packaging and processing, and MATCH Savings Accounts. This organization also has an affordable housing development.

Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center

The Hawaiʻi Homeownership Center will provide education, information, and support to create successful first-time homeowners in Hawai’i. By addressing barriers and increasing rates of homeownership, the HomeOwnership Center aims to build stronger families and communities throughout the state. Their services include homebuyer education and coaching programs as well as down payment assistance.

Hope Services Hawaiʻi

Hope Services supports families needing assistance in the West Hawaii area. People and families can receive mail, emergency food, emergency supplies, phone, computer and fax usage, counseling, case management, meals, showers, and laundry services.
